We recently received a phone call from a client who had come across a newsletter published by another psychic company- and they were really concerned by what they found in it.
We thought that it was worth commenting upon, when we heard what the newsletter was saying. In fact, we felt morally obligated to! Once we'd stopped laughing that is!
The newsletter was titled "accept fate and enjoy..." and started by suggesting that we all have freewill. "Well, yes," you think, of course we have freewill. That's what we thought too! But wait for it! Then the newsletter suggests that the client can excercise their freewill by either accepting predictions made by their psychics or "dismiss(ing) them out of hand", which, while true, seems to suggest withn the first paragraph, that dismissing predictions out of hand is comparable with fighting fate! Well, maybe that was intended, maybe just an accident of presentation! We'll give them the benefit of the doubt at this stage we thought!
Then we read on...
The next paragraph was titled "How to accept fate and enjoy the ride..." and proceeded to set an idyllic picture of a beach setting- on which the reader stands. There's a "huge wave approaching you," the newsletter continues, "the wave is your fate. It could be a wave of love, career, finance, or one of several other forms of fate," the newsletter eloquently explains...
The story then explains that freewill can be defined as, choosing whether to stand and fight the wave(your fate) from pushing you closer to the shore (your destiny) or alternatively, you could "stretch your arms out and let it carry you nearer.." The writer then goes on to explain that standing and fighting the wave will leave you feeling unpleasantly "exhausted, and bruised," while letting it carry you to the shore could be "a pleasurable experience".
Bearing in mind how this newsletter began, it sounds very much at this stage, like the moral of this story is, that if we resist fate, it may lead us feeling like we've fought the wave, all exhausted and bruised! Whereas if we accept our fate, it might be a pleasurable experience!
Well, taking into account the comparison between fate and their own psychics' predictions, this seems very like they are suggesting that if you resist their psychics' predictions, it might lead to you feeling like you're resisting the wave of fate! Maybe an unintended interpretation we thought, but what follows was the slightly disturbing part!
Apparently, "this is freewill." But "either way fate will take you to where life wants you to be!" And "accepting this philosophy can almost certainly help you have a happier life!"
SO! Either way, whatever we choose, however we excercise our freewill, and presumbly, whether we accept or dismiss out of hand their psychics' predictions, it'll make no difference, because fate, (remember how fate was previously compared to their psychics' predictions?) will dictate to you what happens in your life whether you fight it or not!
So there you have it! Apparently, no matter how someone excercises their freewill, fate will still control their destiny! And even worse, that their psychics' predictions might be interpreted as the agents of fate?
Here at whispering spirits, we'd like to assure our clients that we don't concur with any part of that 'philosophy'. We believe that you always have freewill, and that your destiny is decided not by what 'life' or what a psychic reader wants you to do.
Instead, what you decide for yourselves is the right destiny for you.
It's our philosophy, and always has been, that you are in control of your own psychic lives, and no psychic, no company, not 'life' or 'fate' or destiny, should dictate to you what your destiny will inevitably be. Sure there are elements of your life over which you may not have any control. And learning not to worry about those things is a wise lesson to learn. But please don't let a psychic convince you that their predictions cannot be avoided and that you aren't in control of what takes place in your future.
And if a psychic does try to convince you that you aren't in control of your destiny, as this newsletter appears to imply, tell us about it- because they are not the sort of psychics you really want to be talking to!
